Hyperbaric Medical Services Opens its Doors

Hyperbaric Medical Services is open and ready to start accepting new patients!  Located at the corner of O’Farrell and Divisadaro, this is the only independent hyperbaric center in San Francisco. We are within blocks of the USCF Mt. Zion Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center.

Non-hospital affiliated hyperbaric centers can offer some advantages over the hospital based programs. Medicare allows a smaller charge for the same treatment, so the cost to the patient is reduced by about 15%.  Because we are physician owned and operated, we are open to physician directed care, allowing for treatment of new and exciting indications in the evolving use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. 

 We are thrilled to have Jamie M. Bigelow, MD as our Medical Director, she is one of only 485 sub-specialty certified Undersea and  Hyperbaric Medicine physicians in the COUNTRY!!! Joining her on staff is Paul Cianci, MD, another subspecialty certified Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine physician with years of experience and a pioneer in advancing the science in the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in radiation injury, diabetic foot ulcer treatment and burns.

Scott Sherr, MD, a local expert in alternative medicine and hyperbaric oxygen therapy is also on staff, and is seeing patients in San Francisco at this location.

Since so many of our patients have wounds and ulcers that are difficult and hard to heal, we are also offering the only wound care clinic in San Francisco. Renowned experts in the field of non-healing and difficult to heal wounds Ron Sato, MD and Roger Friedenthal, MD are accepting new patients. HMS is the only comprehensive wound care and hyperbaric center in the entire city of San Francisco.  Having all services available at one location reduces the time and effort that so many patients lose going from doctor to doctor.
